About me
I'm an Illustrator and love working in ink, watercolour & acrylic painting, and in my spare time I also create portrait paintings.
Process:
I collect research material by visiting galleries, museums and fashion shows, keeping up to date by looking through magazines, catalogues, visiting stores, social media and observing people all around me. I also love to travel.
I use my research to create collages, moodboards, digital imagery to work from. I also work from photographs and drawing and painting from life.
I absolutely go mad for pastel colours, bright colours, intricate linework and pattern and beautiful textures like embroidery, needle-felting, knitting and crochet.
Digital media illustration:
I use Adobe creative suite to enhance my traditional artwork and creating imagery from scratch. Designed a colouring book.
I volunteered at The Space, 269 Westferry Road London E14 3RS , which is a performing arts centre based in a converted church on the Isle of Dogs, East London. We regulary programmed arts events and workshops both here and at the Roof Garden in Crossrail Place, Canary Wharf.
At the Space, I have created publicity posters and graphics.
For enjoyment in my spare time I'm in a choir, learning to play the piano, I read lots of books and I also have crafty hobbies like sewing and crochet.
I am originally from South Africa and now permanently based in the UK.
